What is the ICS Pig Roast?
It is a community building/pig roasting competition where different teams comprised of school grade levels, ICS friends, alumni etc. Compete to see who has the best pig. Each team pig is judged on crispiness of skin, taste and presentation. The event features food tasting, live entertainment, kids zone with many activities, vendor bazaar and more!
Where does the event take place?
On school grounds (carport, large shelter, baseball field area.
Who may attend the ICS Pig Roast?
The event is open to ICS families, ICS friends, ICS alumni & community members.
When & how may I purchase tickets?
icspigroast.com (tickets on sale October 9th).
What do I get for the purchase of my ticket?
Admission to the event includes tasting of team pigs and sides. (while supplies lasts).
Who needs to purchase a ticket?
Anyone over the age of 3.
What is the cost to compete?
Each team is responsible for purchasing their pig (pig roast committee will secure favorable pricing with local slaughterhouses), utensils, booth decorations (limited to inside the carport), and sides being served. The school may refund a team up to a total of $250 (for items related to purchasing pig, utensils, and condiments), only if the team has secured sponsorship exceeding $250. Teams may submit receipts to director or development, Ivy Robaina (irobaina@icsmiami.org) for appropriate gift in kind donation letter.
Alumni competition
Calling all ICS alumni! We have a new opportunity open to ics alumni only! We will be hosting a separate "all alumni" competition! In addition to the main prize competition, alumni teams will compete against each other for an additional secondary prize. All 4 members of each alumni team must be ics alumni to participate in the alumni competition.
May I bring outside food or drinks?
No. Snacks for small children will be allowed.
May I bring chairs to the event?
Yes. No skateboards, roller skates, rollerblades, bicycles or other items with wheels or engines.
